Letter for a Friend

Today, I woke up feeling drained and unwell. I decided to take a break from contacting anyone, as I wasn’t feeling up to it. However, just when I needed it the most, a surprise came knocking on my door — a rollcake! I was thinking to buy it yesterday, but the store had already closed. So, I immediately reached out to express my gratitude and say thanks to you. Because of the rollcake, you became the first person I contacted after deciding not to reach out to anyone that day.

You have always been the friend I want to share my stories with and I am so thankful for your constant presence in my life. This letter is for you.

You know that I have been going through a tough time lately, feeling sad, stressed, and even depressed. Yet, you have been there for me, listening and supporting me every step of the way. Your act of sending me the rollcake may seem like a usual thing for you, as it’s not the first time you have done so. I guess, is it your favorite rollcake, the one with choco and rum?

Thank you for your unwavering support, even when I shared my wild idea of quitting my job to start selling roasted peanuts coated with a crispy layer, you didn’t dismiss it or laugh it off. Instead, you surprised me with your response, saying you would be the first buyer of my peanuts. I know I might not be serious about that idea, but your encouragement and genuine belief in me are priceless. It’s friends like you who make life brighter.

I feel incredibly blessed to have you as a friend in my life and I hope to reciprocate the same level of care and support that you’ve shown me.

With love and gratitude,
